Advent: A Walk in the Light

December 1- 21, 2020

Be still and know that I am God.—Psalm 46:10

Every year I look forward to Advent. I still remember those quiet Sunday afternoons of my childhood when the Advent wreath candles were burning and my mother and I would sing Christmas songs. I miss the peace and joy of my childhood Advent. Every year, I promise myself to create quiet time during this season and connect with God in a deeper way.

This is the year!

This year has been traumatic and challenging for all of us. I will celebrate a quiet Advent and I want to take you along. If you are like me, having a daily morning routine is essential. And even if you already have a routine in place, this program will be a meaningful addition. Let’s slow down and make time to create calm and joy in our homes during this beautiful season. Many of us won’t be able to gather with family this Christmas, so creating a virtual family and friendship will be of great value.

You will learn how to

~ slow down in the middle of a busy and joyous time
~ pray and breathe while living your day
~ quiet your mind and enjoy God’s peace.

You are invited to weekly

~ live Contemplative teachings and Centering Prayer sessions, Wednesdays at 5:30 pm (EST)
~ live Contemplative services with Rev. Liam Collins, Sundays at 4:30 pm (EST).
(All sessions will be recorded and the replay will be sent to you by email).

You will receive daily emails with Praying Pauses

~ Breath prayers based on Scripture
~ Reflection questions on Scripture
~ Self- care suggestions

I invite you to enter into a Praying Pause right now:

Be still and Know that I am God.—Psalm 46:10

~Breathe quietly and Be still and know  …
~Breathe gently and Be still …
~Breathe calmly and  Be …
~Breathe …
~Amen.
